EZBin privacy policy
Last updated October 26, 2026
In short
The app keeps your inventory on your phone. There are no accounts, no app server, no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting service. Your data leaves the phone only when you share or save it yourself.
Who we are
This app is made by Red Soil Stack, LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we”). Questions about this policy: support@redsoilstack.com or +1 (866) 328-8570.
What the app stores
Everything you enter: inventories, locations, items, quantities, photos, attachments such as receipts, tags, custom fields, orders and the activity log (which action, when, and the phone’s name, which you can change in Settings → This device). It is stored in the app’s private storage on your phone. We cannot see it.
Permissions
| Permission | Why the app uses it | When you are asked |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Scan QR codes and barcodes; take photos of items and orders | The first time you scan or take a photo |
| Bluetooth (on Android 11 and older also Location) | Find and connect to your label printer. Older Android versions require Location for Bluetooth scanning; the app never reads your location | When you set up a printer |
| NFC | Read and write NFC stickers | Not asked (standard permission) |
| Internet and network state | Added by Google ML Kit (barcode scanning); EZBin has no server. Store and product links you tap open in your browser | Not asked (standard permission) |
| Run at startup, keep awake | The daily automatic backup on your phone | Not asked (standard permission) |
Google ML Kit
The app uses Google ML Kit on the phone only to read barcodes and QR codes. It does not analyze the photos you take of your items. The camera image used for scanning is processed on your phone and is not sent to us. ML Kit may download models from Google and may send Google technical and diagnostic information about its use. See Google’s ML Kit terms and Google’s privacy policy.
When data leaves your phone
- When you share a backup or report (for example to Google Drive or by email)
- When you save a file to your Downloads folder
- When you open a store or product link you added
Android’s own cloud backup is turned off for EZBin, so Android does not copy your EZBin data anywhere by itself. NFC tags you write contain only the EZBin code (for example ezbin://c/ITM-AB12CD), never personal data.
In each case you choose where it goes, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Backups
A daily automatic backup is kept on your phone. You can also share a backup, including photos, to a place you choose, and restore it later. We can’t read your backups and we don’t receive them. From version 1.0.233, now in Google’s review, backups are also encrypted so only EZBin can open them.
Deleting your data
Delete items in the app at any time. Uninstalling the app or using “Clear data” in Android settings deletes everything that has not been backed up. Backups you shared stay where you put them until you delete them.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Other versions
This policy covers the Android app described here. Any future version that works differently will have its own policy before it is released.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
